Remember When Going 10 MPH Felt Like 50?
Adventure.
It’s one of the biggest reasons we love to drive, ride and explore.
Motorcycles. ATVs. Golf carts. LSVs.
I still remember riding around in my buddy’s go-kart when I was a kid. It felt like we were doing 50 miles an hour.
We were probably doing 10.
But that didn’t matter.
The wind was in our hair. We had streets and fields ahead of us. And for a little while, we felt unstoppable.
That feeling never really leaves you.
It certainly never left me.
Somewhere Along the Way, Driving Became a Chore
Today, I can jump in my truck and go 70 miles an hour without thinking twice.
But it doesn’t feel anything like that go-kart.
For most of us, our everyday vehicles have become tools. We buy them to get to work, pick up groceries, run errands and handle all the things life puts on the list.
They’re practical.
They’re comfortable.
They’re expensive.
And increasingly, they’re just a way to get from Point A to Point B.
But a golf cart or Low-Speed Vehicle?
That’s different.
You don’t just get in an LSV because you have somewhere to go.
“Sometimes you get in because you want to go somewhere.”
That’s the Opportunity
The average American shopping or recreational trip is roughly 7–9 miles.
And a huge percentage of roads across America are roads where lower-speed travel is possible.
So the question becomes:
Why aren’t more of those short trips being made in something that is open-air, fun and actually makes the trip part of the experience?
For many people, one answer has been simple:
They don’t know where they can go.
That’s exactly the problem we set out to solve with Cartin’™.
Cartin’™ Started With One Simple Question
I built my own golf cart from a 2011 E-Z-GO frame and eventually converted it into an LSV.
Then I had what seemed like a very basic question:
Where can I drive this thing?
Surely Apple Maps could tell me.
Nope.
Google Maps?
Nope.
Waze?
Nothing.
There simply wasn’t an easy way to navigate specifically for golf carts and LSVs.
So we built one.
After a year and a half of development, Cartin’™ launched on iOS in 2025.
Now, with Cartin’™, drivers can explore their communities with a much better understanding of where their cart or LSV can actually take them.
And that brings back something we tend to lose as adults:
the fun of simply going for a ride.
But Navigation Was Only the Beginning
Once someone learns the routes around their community, a natural question comes up:
Does Cartin’™ become unnecessary?
Not even close.
Because somewhere along the way, we realized something important.
“Cartin’™ wasn’t really just a navigation app.”
Cartin’™ was becoming a golf cart lifestyle platform.
Navigation gets you out the door. Then the fun begins.
- Poker Runs
- Scavenger Hunts
- Friends Radar
- Gas Savings
- Leaderboards
Friendly competition.
Reasons to call your friends and say, “Come on, let’s go.”
That’s what Cartin’™ is really about.
And Dealers Can Become Part of the Experience
This is where we think things get especially interesting for golf cart dealers.
The relationship with a customer doesn’t have to end when the cart leaves the dealership.
Imagine hosting a Cartin’™ Poker Run on a Saturday afternoon.
Or creating a community Scavenger Hunt.
Invite your customers back.
Let them bring their friends.
Give away prizes.
Create some friendly competition.
Show the neighborhood what they’re missing.
“Instead of simply selling someone a golf cart, you can help give them something to do with it.”
And that changes the relationship entirely.
You’re no longer just the place where they bought their cart.
You become part of the community surrounding it.
Because Nobody Buys a Golf Cart to Leave It in the Garage
People buy golf carts because somewhere inside of us is still that kid in the go-kart.
We still want the wind in our hair.
We still want to explore.
We still want a little competition.
We still want an excuse to call our friends and go do something.
That instinct never really disappears.
Cartin’™ simply gives it somewhere to go.
Adventure gets us out there.
Competition keeps it interesting.
Community keeps us coming back.
Cartin’™. For the lifestyle.
